Mobile applications are one of the primary mediums of interaction and data access nowadays.

Nevertheless, there are many aspects of mobile applications that need to be evaluated before creating one for your business or personal venture:

  • Will it be a revenue source?
  • Can I share technology between platforms to minimize costs?
  • How much will it cost and how long will it take to build?
  • How do I assemble a team or find one to build and support my application?

Some of these questions are hard to answer, some just require someone asking them, and that’s what I’m here for.

I worked as a Software Engineer in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Francisco, California. I now live in Panama, bringing my experience back home.

During my free time, I like to help emerging business and entrepreneurs who need direction in the creation of a mobile application. I can also assist in project followup and engineering team guidance, because the technical vision of a company sometime needs a fresh set of eyes.

May I help you build a mobile experience?

Consulting Rates

My rates are simple: the first hour of our meeting is free, be it in-person or online. After that I charge $50 an hour after 30 minutes of each hour have elapsed. Any subsequent meeting follows the same payment scheme.

For project follow-up and management, we’ll sign a contract that states rates, goals and deliverables. Rates will normally be monthly, and have a fixed component based on time and a variable component based on objectives.

About

My name is Ricardo Chavarria. I was born in Costa Rica, but I’ve called Panama my home since 1998.

I earned a B.S.  degree in Computer Science from Florida State University in 2006, and an M.S. degree in Computer Science – Video Games from University of Southern California in 2008.

I spent 6 years of my life living and working in Silicon Valley, specifically San Francisco, California. During my time there, I had the joy of working with enormously talented people at LucasArts and Kabam.

Since 2015, I’ve been living in Panama working as Director of Technology and Head of Office at Admios, an established near-shoring firm with roots in San Francisco, California.

In 2015 I also started a video game venture with a few friends, Fivebits. We like to develop free-to-play mobile games that make people laugh.

In my spare time, I enjoy overlanding and off-roading, as well as woodworking, cooking and electronics projects.
